Accessibility & Legal Support
- Paratransit: Provides accessible campus shuttle services for students, faculty and staff with mobility challenges.

- Student Legal Aid Office: Provides free, confidential legal advice and resources to undergraduate students on issues like housing, employment and more.

Immigration-Related Services & Assistance
Students on international nonimmigrant student visas should refer to International Student Scholar Services (ISSS) for assistance with visa or university questions related to your immigration status.
Students who are looking for university-related immigration resources or services may fill out a Thrive Center Assistance Form.
Legal Aid offers 30-minute consultations with an immigration attorney for undergraduate and graduate U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, international, undocumented and immigrant students. These consultations are with a specialized immigration attorney who is familiar with student-related issues.
Residency Reclassification
Residency Reclassification Services handles students’ requests to be reclassified as in-state residents for tuition purposes. Students who are initially classified as out-of-state residents by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions or Graduate Admissions, and subsequently believe they meet the requirements for in-state tuition and fees, may apply for in-state residency.

Safety, Rights & Reporting
- Office of Civil Rights & Sexual Misconduct (OCRSM): Handles reports of discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct and Title IX concerns.
- University of Maryland Police Department (UMPD): A full-service police agency dedicated to campus safety, emergency response and crime prevention resources for the UMD community.
- Bias Incident Support Services: Supports those affected by bias, hate or identity-based incidents by offering reporting options, advocacy and connection to campus resources.

- Care Solace: Provides confidential support and connection to resources for City of College Park residents experiencing food/housing insecurity, medical needs, stress and mental health issues.
